The Body scan shown has no colour to allow you to see the mesh detail.It has been decimated to be able to use in the 3d web application, the fulls scan is of a higher detail. In this particular example we used the whole body system for the body and the Head scanner for the head as more details is needed for the head,
we would normally take a plaster cast of the subjects hands and feet and scan them. this particular job was used to make a polystyrene model of the actor in order to make a prosthetic suit for the DR Who TV series, this method saved the studio from having the actor pose for hours to make the suit. The advantages over Life casting is that the actor does not need to stand still for very long while the scan is taken, no distortion to the actor takes place from the weight of the materials as used in life casting
